Camping Trip 06
Posted in: Everyday
So we went camping this weekend. We being Neal, Tristan, Matt, Jeremy, Brittany, Katie, Sierra and I.
It was a good trip all and all. We had some issues with the fact that we were camped on an old fire access road that was made during the fires on the mountain. The road was blocked off, but apparently some guy had still managed to get down there to camp. He had set up before we got there and then left. While he was gone we set up camp on the road. He came back at like midnight to find us. Long story short we had to move half the tent so he could pass by. Very irritating to be woken up like that. The next day was spent clearing a path for him to get through when he came back. Nothing to major, just moving three or four felled trees with 3 foot diameters. Good thing we had a 4×4 Toyota truck and straps. It was a lot of fun doing it though.
I love camping, and I am trying to plan a backpacking trip for the summer. Current possible locations are northern Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado. I will be spending some time looking at each to narrow it down. Arizona would be easiest, but Colorado has a lot to offer.
Unfortunately backpacking requires a great amount of time, more planning, more gear, and more money in general. Gear isn’t cheap. You can rent some things, but others you will either have to borrow or buy. I have my own gear, but I think I am the only one who does. This could become a very limiting factor on those who could go. We shall see how it all develops, but I really want to go backpacking sense I haven’t been in a few years.
I have put the photos from this trip into the slide show. You can also download the pictures, tho they are only really suitable for computer use, and not for print.
